A classroom for believers who want to study the Scriptures with rigor and joy. Established 1999, still open to anyone willing to come and learn.
What we do
The whole Bible, taught carefully.
Verse-by-verse teaching that takes Scripture as the inspired, inerrant Word of God. Old Testament foundations, the life and work of Christ, the apostolic letters, and how it all hangs together as one unfolding story of redemption.
We don't water it down. We also don't show off. The aim is to know Christ better through the Word He gave us, and to be changed by what we learn.
Open to members of New Antioch and to anyone in the wider Los Angeles community who wants in. No prior Bible training required.

Our Wednesday Bible Study is the front door. Streamed live on Facebook, YouTube, and LiveStream.
Online
Wednesday teachings are online-only so you can join from anywhere. Other Institute sessions happen on campus.

A classroom founded with intent.
Bishop James A. Lewis founded the Basic Bible Institute in 1999. He wanted a place where people could go deep into the Scriptures, not just a Sunday hand-wave at a passage. Pastor Jeffrey Lewis and our teachers carry that conviction forward.
